Excerpts from the Travel Log PART TWO
DAY 2 - Oct. 18
I want my lawyer.
It's only been a day since we've been here in Hilongos and already I've gotten to learn lots of things about what's happening with this place. For one thing, my grandmother is still paying huge amounts for property taxes well in fact a part of it (spec. the road itself, which apparently was also supposed to be ours as well hehe) was already being used by the local government for public use. So there was a big issue to talk about with regards to the "expropriation" and stuff. The annoying thing is that they'd been using that place for a very long time already, still they get my lola to pay taxes for it, and now they are insisting her to donate it to the government for tax credit! Leche!
And there's this Baranggay Health Center crap. My grandmother was generous enough to donate part of the land to be used as a baranggay health center. And now we learn that some idiot of a "midwife" is using that place as a private residence! PONYETA! I WANT MY LAWYER!!!
It's at times like this that I really want to be a lawyer. Hehe. Leche. I prefer to be a doctor. Oh well. Who knows? ^__^
For now, I'll stick to having my own lawyer. Kuya Pochoy, pwede ka? ^__^
------------------------------------------------------------
There's this thing about rural living that annoys me - mosquitoes, and tons of it. Back in Manila I only worry about them at night; here in the province, well, it's another story. Mosquitoes here - some as big as a 10-wheeler truck - has a thing for biting people in the middle of the day and even on the dead of night. That's 24 hours of worrying for dengue! Pucha! And there's probably no point trying to avoid them. Last night I just saw a pair doing "the thing" on thin air! Ponyeta! That would be billions of blood-sucking pests to roam around the town! Argh!
-----------------------------------------------------------
Waah I want to go home!!!
Nah, I'm just kidding. I'm dead bored. There's no cable tv. No computer. No radio to listen to NU. And most especially... NO INTERNET!!! ARGH!!! I'm gonna die!!! T__T
And there's no f*ckin' way for me to make contact with the outside world. As of now, my celphone's been cut off, so there's absolutely no way for messages to go in and out of my phone. Sniff.
Tasukete kure kudasai!!!!!!!!!
