Excerpts from the Travel Log PART ONE

DAY 1 - Oct. 17

Waking up this morning made me wonder why I like travelling so much. My head's still hurting even after more than 24 hours of stay in Cebu, and I doubt if it will go anytime sooner. For now, I'll make myself busy again to get my mind away from the pain.

We left for Ormoc around 11AM. Annoying that trip was. We have this annoying brat on board that keeps on having tantrums all throughout the trip. How I wish I can just open the hatches and throw the little brat out to the sharks. Garr. Other than that, the trip was actually uneventful. No dolphins were seen throughout the trip unlike when we rode when we were kids, though I managed to spot a flying fish somewhere. Bore. "Bridget Jones" was played for the entertainment of the passengers. Oh well.

Really can't wait for this "business trip" to finish. Me and the guys will be goint to Enchanted Kingdom with the Dicta boys on the 29th, and that is truly something to look forward to. Bryan texted me this morning - happy fellow, that guy. Said he'd be going to EK early that day as well coz' he's with his girlfriend. Naks naman! At long last we'd be able to meet her. In any event, we will have lots of fun going to the rides with the boys. Even Bry says so. :P

I didn't enjoy the trip from Ormoc to Hilongos. Though I can't really say I didn't have some bits of fun from time to time. The thing that caught my fancy the most is the ever-so "winding road" that is totally reminiscent of Initial D - if not only because of the fact that this road's beachside. Those were some wild corners, you see. Anyway, after travelling for 645654865748979465647987476 hours, crossing 65434976499784534979845646 waterways and 876499887564974304 square miles of farmland, we finally arrived at Hilongos, Leyte.

It's a familiar sight. I remember having to ride our car all around town, having to ride the carabao across the property... but that was ages ago. We decided to stay at lola's house - the "Rice Mill", as we call it, mainly because it IS a rice mill. How I actually missed smelling freshly-milled rice every time I wake up here, and having that smell stick to our every piece of laundry everytime. Haha. We usually stay here because it is by the main road - if we were to stay at the main house, it would be another long drive inland, or so I remember. Plus, it would be a big hassle if we were to stay at the main house. Ever since my grandfather died, that place has not been maintained. It is only recently that mom has started on maintaining the old properties again - hopefully soon I'll be able to see the main house back to its astonishing glory.

But for now, I'll stick to the rice mill and enjoy my stay for a while. Hopefully I'd be able to find something that will entertain me.
